Default Headlights inoperable

Went to my Corvette club meeing last night, and when I tried to turn on the headlights on my '98 vert they would not come on or pop-up. I had to manuslly raise them to go up but the low beam lights would not come on. The parking lights, dash lights, fog lights, tail lights and high beams would all illuminate, but the lows would not come on. Lately, sometimes I would have to operate the headlight switch a few times to get the lights to come up and on. I have HID's installed, but this problem with the lights has intermittenlly gotten worse over the last few months. (numerous attempts turning on the switch to raise the headlights). This is the first time that I had to manually raise the buckets, and the low beams would not illuminate. Ending up driving home from my meeting with high beams. Any helpfull suggestions, or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Craig

The stalk switch contacts may be going bad. There used to be a write up around here that showed how to take it out, clean and adjust the contacts. Worked like a charm when I had my C5
