Default Washer Fluid Sensor

I've searched this forum, but my new-to-me C5 has a problem: it's washer fluid sensor seems not to be working (tank full, still gives "low washer fluid" warning). I looked on the forum and found information about the sensor, but is there anything I should try before I go taking parts off? Can I take the sensor out without draining the tank (that question was not satisfactorily answered in the other thread).

Thanks.

Very common after getting back from a shop. Reach down behind the refill tank (between the tank and driver's firewall) and feel for the sensor. Be gentle and rotate it 180*. Also, there is a notch that you will feel and this lets you know when it has been located correctly. Trust me, you should feel it. Hopefully, this will eliminate your "low washer fluid" indicator.

If not, you can always take apart and clean or put a little bit of vinegar in with your fluid, not too much due to the acidity. Anyway, this has been known to clean up the sensor if you have let your tank sit for a long time without washer fluid.

Last solution, go buy the sensor at the local Chev dealership and replace.

Good luck and hope this solves your problem.
