MOD EXPERTS...If you had it to do again....
For all you engine power and gear mod experts, if you had it to do over again and had a budget of $15K, what would you do? (not including intake and exhaust stuff). Keep in mind I have to deal with Calif smog standards and my car is brand new (2002). I am not going to race it, just want to get on it when "necessary". :)

What C5Noir said if you could pull it off for 15k (Probably need closer to 20K)and if that is no too much power for you as you would be looking at about 600rhwp with this set up if running larger boost.
I would say if C5Noir's suggestion is too radical & expensive for you, then i would do the lingefelter magna charger (with warranty for several hundred extra=no brainer) and this seems to rock regarding performance at 1/4 mile testing vs. procharger, reliability, drivability, biggest name in the market and is probably one of the only hot rod mod you can do to your C5 which will actually increase value of your vette (whereas most mods will devalue the actual trade in value of your car) b/c you will have a forced induction car done by the top vette tuner & biggest name out there in the modern era of time, that being Lingenfelter (that=more return on your investment as far as value of your car is considered)!:D

$15 is BARELY enough to do a re-sleeved stroker alone and does not address the other things you NEED to do. You need at least $20k to go big. Things like a clutch, HD Radiator and engine oil cooler.
For overall daily drivability I would go for forced induction. There are some drawbacks on the track, but it will give you big power and a smooth idle. Many of the big motors making big power are using HUGE cams that will be very rough. I had a 229/114 cam (much smaller than the others, but still 502rwhp through cats!) and felt it was NOT daily drivable so it is being "cammed down" slightly now for hopefully great power and great drivability. LEARN from this! Choose something that meets your goals.
I would say that the only thing realistically in your price range is supercharging at the 450rwhp range (very good) and some heads, valvetrain, clutch,radiator/engine oil and exhaust upgrades.
