Just had a MGW short shift kit installed by my local performance center.
Now it seems that while accelerating in first and second there is a rattle.
Love the short shift, a little stiff, may go for the anti-venom mod.
If I immediately go into neutral while the car in moving the rattle goes away.
The rattle seems to lessen considerable in 3, 4 and 5th gear.
In neutral, if I race the engine there is NO rattle. I thought that maybe my new short tube headers need re tightened or something was loose under the car but don't think so now.
I think I have found the source; my "low engine oil" light came on. Added one quart and it seemed to quiet down. The "low engine light" came on again. Will add more oil tomorrow.
Looks like my engine is going thru a quart per 1,000 miles; is this normal?
Mu car only havs 16,000 miles on it. It's a 2000 vert, LS1 engine.
