Default Hood light doesnt work/engine compartment

I changed the bulb even though the existing one looked good, still doesnt work. Is this thing one of those mercury switches?

I'm assuming it is. I just got it and I don't see where it might be disconnected, at least I don't see it. The guy did have one of those XM radio things in the dash cubby hole that hooked up to something haven't had a chance to look yet. Only mentioning it thinking he might have used the hot wire from the hood for it. Don't know.

I doubt that someone would wire the XM radio into the hood light

Follow the harness from the bottom of the light down the hood. Eventually you will find a connector......very common to find them unplugged.

Check fuse # 2 inside passenger side fuse box. I had the same problem and it was caused by a blown fuse.

The hood light connects to a connector right behind the radiator-some people disconnect for ???? reason. Just follow the wires DOWN.

It should automatically go out after approx. 15 minutes with the hood open. You might verify that. If it doesn't maybe that's why the original owner disconnected it.
