Right front underside on my 01 coupe is caked with grease/grime. I popped the hood, and I could see a tear in the boot on what I believe is the rack and pinion. Big enough to stick my finger in it. There's no grime build up near the engine so I don't suspect a crank seal or anything like that.
Car also has steering vibrations when turning right which is why I started to take a look to begin with. It has the selective ride control if that makes a difference in a possible diagnosis.
Any input or things I can check before I start throwing money at it?
