Default 12 disc changer plug question

how do you pop the pins out of the plugs ?
I haven't any luck doing the usual slide a small screwdriver in and knock the tab out of the way method.....

Have considered replacing the plug connector?
Try here

I think I still have my old harness that I purchased when I installed a 12 disk for my Z06 if that's the one you're working on.

Yes but I've had trouble finding the connector
I have the factory harness , it came with the car from the factory ( I'm the original owner )
I really just want to fix , change or splice in the plug or fix the pins

Don't have the connector, but we've got plenty of terminals. Is it the female connector with two rows of holes? Since it sounds like the connector's okay, do you have enough wire length to solder/heat shrink a splice if you remove the terminal? Or, if you just need a couple of terminals, PM me your address and I'll pop a couple in the mail. Much better than splicing.

yes female
I actually would like to just pop the pins out
I've tried the normal ways but so far have failed.
If I could get it out , I know I'm good from there.....

Get a jumbo paperclip and straighten one end.

Push the terminal in from the rear so it's fully seated and hold it in.

Carefully insert the paperclip into the outer hole for that terminal, from the mating side of the connector. So, if the wire is in the 2nd slot from the end, insert the paperclip into the 2nd hole from the end, in the outer row.

Pull out the terminal. If necessary, wiggle the paperclip while pulling on the terminal. Don't pull hard, it'll either come out easily, or not at all.

One more thing. Since I don't have a connector handy, I took a look at the OEM cad drawings, and it looks like this connector has button locks. These are plastic tabs on one side of the connector body that push in to retain the terminal. If it has them, use a thin screwdriver to pry them up, and one end should pop out. Usually the male connectors have these, so I didn't think about it earlier.

You may still have to use a paperclip too. When I say insert it into the outer holes, that means not the row of holes that the mating male terminals fit into.

finally got them out
what a pita
the pins are not re-attached and ready to put back in the connector.

4 were broken unfortunately I'm not sure what order and the pin out diagram has different colors listed and only the orange is correct per my manual

purple
orange
green
grey
these 4 are connected and are fine

and a shielded cable with
red
black
white.
these 4 are not and are not listed in my manual by the correct colors

anyone know what order ?

FYI : if it matters , the changer was installed by the dealer because the saleshole screwed up when he ordered it from the factory.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1578140972-post1.html

my plug wiring is like the 4th pic in this post
now I know 2 more and it looks like the 2 blacks positions are all I need
one is a true black and small like the red and white ones
and one is bare and thicker but shielded in black

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1559662954-post17.html
judging from this it looks like the thick one is in the middle

I like the way the wires are different colors
