I just paid a chevy dealer $1300 to replace the computer on my 03 C5. The ABS/Traction message went away but now none of the buttons on my Driver Information Center will work. He says its not related. Does anyone know and if thats not the problem what would it be?
It was the computer that controlled the Anti lock brakes and traction Control and I don't know what else. Thats all I know other than the fact that none of the buttons on my DIC work any longer. Got any ideas?
I'm "assuming" they replaced the EBCM?? Should not have anything to do with the DIC lighting-do you see anything in the display on startup (like the mileage of the car)?

I'm pretty certain you're correct about the module and yes when I start the the display works fine showing everything it's supposed to and then reverts to the mileage.
Have you tried turning the button on the far left side of the panel that controls the intensity of the lights? Someone in the dealership might have turned them down for some silly reason. I know that sounds simple but you might check it if you haven't already. Good Luck.

I retract my previous post. Sorry my bad. I misread your issue. My apologies. I thought it was the lights on the panel.
I bought an entire gauge cluster off ebay. It has high miles on it, but that doesn't matter because I didn't use that part. I took it apart and swapped the DIC board into mine. FIXED for less than $200!
There is a thread that details installing a HUD on a nonHUD car. I pulled it up on a laptop and brought it into the garage with me. Isn't technology wonderful?
