I had a local tuner install mine. He had to do some blocking off and re-routing of some of the PCV and AIR/EVAP system lines to get the LS6 manifold to install properly.
Before - Vararam, Borla Stingers, stock tune: 325 hp / 320 ft#
After - Vararam, Borla Stingers, LS6 manifold, Tune: 336 hp / 325 ft#
Basically the tune and the manifold got me 11 hp and 5 ft#; so probably, it was mostly just the tune. Most of that 10 hp bump was from 5300 rpm to the redline.

I would have figured you would pick up more from a ls6 intake and a tune, but I guess every car is different.
Looking to switch out my ls1 intake to a ls6 intake. What is all needed for me to do this? Thanks
All you really need is to either buy the front crossover tube and rear block offs for the coolant, or modify the bottom of the intake to fit using the ls1 style coolant lines that tie the front to the back. You'll see what I mean when you get the intake off since the ls6 is flat on the bottom
The tuner who did mine said it wouldn't get me much on my near-stock LS1; and I knew that going in. He said it would be a synergy addition for the next set of mods - headers, etc.
So is it really worth the money for the little horsepower you get? I would like to do headers, intake and all bolt ons but I live in California. Anyone from California that has headers and passed smog? I would like a set but dont want to keep switching them out with stock if they dont pass smog. This might not be the right area to ask these questions but I just got my first vette 2004 C5 with 11,800 miles and would like to start adding more horses...lol

Relax, you ALREADY have the LS6 manifold which became standard on all Vettes after 2001.
You already have the LS6 intake. This was the major upgrade for ALL vettes in 2001, same intake and exhaust manifold as Z06s for all vettes/vertes.

I'm pretty sure the 2004 manifolds are about the same as the B&B shorty headers I have as far as performance goes. The B&B's and JBA's are the only smog-legal headers for us here in Kali-land.
Do a good cat-back exhaust and an underdrive pulley. Neither is very expensive and both will help. An X-pipe will help too and it will sound better. If you want a smog-legal cold air intake (CAI), either do a K&N or a Calloway "Honker". The Honker does make good power, but it's WAY overpriced. I went with a Vararam which is not CA legal, but the smog guy didn't even look at it. The Vararam makes the best power, but you only see that power increase at ram-air speeds - 55+ mph.
Is yours a stick or automatic? Either way, gears are the quickest way to wake it up. If it's an automatic, a stall converter will help a lot too.
Beyond that you're looking at a cam change and/or a cylinder head change - or just go all out and get the smog-legal blower/supercharger for about $6,500 installed. That will get you to about 500 rwhp which is more than enough to get you in trouble.
