Default Please Help: REDUCE ENGINE POWER, TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE (with Codes)

Hi all,

I was driving home in my 2003 Z06, had the stock bose stereo blasting...got on it fairly hard in 2nd gear leaving a stop...then all of a sudden I felt a cut in power (couldn't tell if it was from the TC or the engine). I immediatly pushed in the clutch and was coasting about 55-60mph...where I saw the dreaded "Reduce Engine Power" and something like "Traction Control Failure" or "Service Traction Control" error messages. I continued to coast, took the next turn and pulled over.

As I pulled over I could hear that the car sounded strange at idle (as if it were missing and the idle was somewhat elevated). I immediately shut off the car, waited about 10 seconds, fired it back up and all seemed fine/normal (except the check engine light is now permanently on). I cruised home slowly on the 25mph back roads, got home, parked and promptly got on the Corvette Forum.

I found multiple posts of others dealing with these same error messages, read up a bit then went out and collected my codes.

Unfortunately, I shut off the car before I collected these codes...I have never collected my codes or reset them before. Here they are:

10-PCM = P1514 H
60-IPC = U1160 H
99-HVAC = B0361 H
AO-LDCM = B2282 H, B2284 H, A1064 H
A1-RDCM = B2283 H, B2285 H, U1064 H
28-TCS = C1278 H

Can anyone help me with these?

Since pullling the codes, I started the car again and it seems to run fine, albeit the check engine light is on (and it seems that the idle could perhaps be a tad bit higher/elevated over normal). I have not driven it again yet.

Also here are my primary mods, if it matters:
243 ported/shaved heads, cam, headers, polished TB, pulley, Calloway honker, tune

Thank you for your help/input.

I would check for a vacuum leak from a broken, loose connection or loose intake or throttle body bolts. What triggered your 1514 is airflow going beyond what is predicted in the airflow table. That table serves to protect drivers from a runaway situation with the electronic (drive by wire) throttle body. Exceeding the predicted airflow in any given cell and an elevated idle speed makes me think you've got a vacuum leak. If you have anyone that owns any type of scanning equipment such as HPtuners or EFI live, you can further verify this by scanning the LTIT and STIT's, looking for negative values (due to the PCM trying to reduce airflow after it's been added due to the leak).

Thanks Blownbluez06...truly appreciate your response.

So - anyone else out there? Any other thoughts/suggestions?

Please and thank you.
