As I understand it, this code does not normally mean--as some people think--that the car is dangerous/unsafe to drive. You will not have the "backup" of ABS or traction control but brakes will otherwise work normally. You would be, however, staring at those dashboard messages for the rest of your ownership experience and re-sale will be negatively impacted.
Surprising that someone electronically knowledgeable has not looked into this and come up with a replacement module or other fix. Perhaps liability issues have kept people away from it.
I just got off the phone with chevy. They connected me with a dealership out here. From what I can gather they still make it and it is part of the pump.
The part that connects to the side of the pump is $50 and it is number 1 on the picture (1y04-050).
The pump is $2000 and is sold as a module also containing the EBCM attached to the side of it.

That's interesting, as far as I know they don't make them any more, haven't in a few years. Unless the dealership has had one sitting on their shelf as a spare.
