Default 1998 C5 corvette EBCM

Hello, I am new and I have a question.

In the middle of the summer I was driving and I had floored it (for lack of better words).

Seconds later the ABS Active handling lights came on.

I thought it was a fuse but I could find no fuse.

Took it to the dealer and they said it was 2500$ to fix it. (not happening)

Last night I had a bad dream and I am growing more concerned about not having ABS.

Today I checked the ground on the side of the ABS pump with a meter and got 5.08 ohms.

The Code I have is C1255 C H (When cleared the H goes away and the code stays with the C)

There was another code C1234 that went with it but when cleared it never returned.

Any ideas how to fix this?

What about all the places that say they can rebuild it for $800 or so?

As I understand it, this code does not normally mean--as some people think--that the car is dangerous/unsafe to drive. You will not have the "backup" of ABS or traction control but brakes will otherwise work normally. You would be, however, staring at those dashboard messages for the rest of your ownership experience and re-sale will be negatively impacted.

Surprising that someone electronically knowledgeable has not looked into this and come up with a replacement module or other fix. Perhaps liability issues have kept people away from it.

I just got off the phone with chevy. They connected me with a dealership out here. From what I can gather they still make it and it is part of the pump.

The part that connects to the side of the pump is $50 and it is number 1 on the picture (1y04-050).

The pump is $2000 and is sold as a module also containing the EBCM attached to the side of it.

So they make it?

That's interesting, as far as I know they don't make them any more, haven't in a few years. Unless the dealership has had one sitting on their shelf as a spare.

What is the name or the part number for the pump?

Thank you
