Default H/C/I/E a piston slapper?

So my engine has 79K miles and does have piston slap cold. When warm, it never goes completely away. Completely stock at this point. Oil pressure is normal according to what I have read here. 5W-30 Mobil one.

So, it's bugging me that I'm about to add another 150+ HP to the thing with rattling peestons.

What do those of you who know think?

If it comes out, it will become a 382. I'm just that way.

i don't recall ever hearing of piston slap to be the cause of any catastrophic engine failure. i say go for it. if it ever gets too bad, you can always hone the cylinders and replace the rotating assembly to stroke it out to 383ci.

Mine does it now when cold...and I'm forged with a blower. It goes away when the oil reaches 100-120 degrees so I'm not worried. I plan to drive this thing till the bottom end fall out

If you already haven't bought the parts to upgrade your motor, maybe it'd be a good time for a new, forged shortblock. The H/C combo choice would benefit from the option to be optimized with a new stroker block. Sooner or later, the high mile block that already has slap will need to go, and since it's all apart, why not. If it's budget issues, just wait until you can do both. Drive it as-is, and be patient. The bad news that awaits you, is that your drivetrain will then need to be upgraded, and that's expensive/difficult, too. This is probably stuff that you already know, but it could be considered a reality check.
