Default 295/40-18 on rear ?

Any issues with running a 295/40-18 on the rear of a coupe with C5Z spec wheels ?

I would keep the 265/40-17 up front and was curious if this would give any errors with the ABS/TCS.

The reason for asking is I have a chance to pick up a set of tires in this size for a good price, but don't want a bunch of new problems just to save a few bucks.

Thanks,
Ernie

It will look like crap with a 40 sidewall. Stick with OEM Z size 295x35x18

The delta in overall tire diameter between the 295/40-18 rear and 256/40-17 fronts is just about 2" 27.29 vs 25.3.
From all I have read it is inadviseable to run more than about a 1.5" delta since the AH/TCS may never come into play if needed. The factory delta is just over 1". The recommended minimum delta is rear 1/2" larger overall diameter than fronts. If your a person that drives all the time in Competitive mode then don't worry about it. But if you expect AH/TC to function if needed, I'd skip this tire.

I personally wouldn't put the tire on my car with that big a delta rear to front. As always YMMV

Thanks !! Good to hear from you again !

I appreciate all the feedback guys. I was just doing a little digging to see if it would be worth it to save a few bucks and wasn't really thrilled about the sidewall height either.

I'll be passing on them now.
