hmm would be interesting to see if anyone did back to back runs and could provide these numbers. if all goes well friday I should have some info to post :D
It hard to judge, but I have knocked off .05 -.15 depending on traction. With the PT-2400 it is hard to power brake and hold it at 1500 rpms without the car moving. A higher stall converter should not have a problem. The higher I take the rpms, the harder it is to get traction, the drag radials have to get really hot!

They're my old stock 98 wheels painted black with 275 series BFG drag radials. One was scuffed up, and I was curious to see how the car would look with black wheels. But soon I'll be in the market for either some matching wheels, or new ones all around.
With my Yank 3000, I can't see a difference in time either way on a hot day. I have tried many difference rpms and have the same results. On a cold day 60 degrees or less, my best results are to run it up to 1500 and let her rip. Drops the ET by .1, Usually I torque it to 1,500rpm on launch anyway because my R/T is better. I use 275/17" Nitto Drag Radials on my old front wheels.
A Friend has a Vigilante 3,500 and he swears by going from idle.
