Default Coolant leak

Hey guys,

my Z06 leaks a few drops of coolant after the engine has cooled down. Noticeable due to a few drops of coolant on the driver side of the leaf spring.
Sometimes it leaks nothing for days and the sometimes it’s the size of a teaspoon..

I’ve had it in the shop twice, with no result. The car was pressure tested twice and passed without any problems. Also it’s not enough to show on the coolant tank level.
I also checked several of the hose clamps for tightness, but everything was fine.

No sign around the water pump for leaks. Of course with the A&A supercharger bracket mounted it doesn’t make tracking any easier.
While the car was in the shop it didn’t leak. It only seems to do it when the engine is cooled down.
I’ve read that if the water pump leaks it drops water in the middle of the leaf spring. In this case though, the water shows clearly drop spots on the driver side of the spring.

It’s been doing this for several hundred miles without any changes. It really gets annoying not being able to track down the problem.
Anyone have an idea what I’m facing here ?

Thanks,
Alex

Pull the radiator cover off the car and look at the top left of the radiator itself. Mine started barely dripping and turned out the radiator had developed a hairline crack there in the plastic radiator tank side.

Most cold leaks are due to clamps being loose. Remember, water will take the path of least resistance and could originate very far from where the drops are ending up.
