Default Codes 1233 ans 1226

I have a 2001 Coupe 6 speed with 112,000 miles.
Lately whenever I hit a bump or pothole I get either 1233(RF Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted) or 1226(LF Excessive Wheel Speed Variation). They don't come in all the time but it is getting more frequent as well when the morning temperature is colder 45 etc they happen more often. I believe that the sensor is in the wheel bearing assembly. Could this be that the bearings are getting sloppy. When I check them by pulling on the wheel they seams fine.
Any ideas and help would be appreciated.
Thanks Wayne

There are a number of troubleshooting posts for this if you search, but I would first just replace the cable that connects the wheel hub to the chassis connector. This cable always tested good for me but on advise I replaced it anyway and that fixed the problem.

Cost was about $70 I think and simple to do.

C1226 is in fact the RF. Check that the female pins at both ends of the wheel harness are not flattened
