Default Windshield trim problem

At the base of the windshield where the cowl cover meets the bottom of the windshield is a "gasket" that seals against the glass. The gasket on my car is coming loose from the cowl cover and is up on the glass about an inch. It appears that the rubber gasket is supposed to lock into a groove in the cowl cover and I was able to sort of snap it back into place but it doesn't stay there long. Question I have is , can I buy a new gasket or is it a part of the cowl cover? Anybody else have this happen and what was your solution?

I believe you need to replace the whole cowl to repair that part.

I used a little bit of adhesive left over from putting rubber seals on another caar. Pushed it in and held it for awhile until it stayed in place. It has held for over a year.

I had the same problem. I got some black RTV and used it to hold (and seal) the gasket in. Just put some weight on the gasket to make sure it stays down, while the RTV dries. Good luck!
