Where did you fine that number.?....it's too long for a casting number. The block casting number is located on the rear of the engine....typically just below the drivers side head.

Default number

this number is etched in on driver side on side of engine. found a couple more numbers on Pass side 8311E9672856 and another 98311043932985. This engine is in a custom truck I just traded for. Most recent owner thinks its from an 04. read in mag where this was featured that it is 2000 or 2001. Has red rail covers but that doesnt mean much. Thanks for checking into this for me

Ok. I told you where to find the casting number, which will then decode the year. If you can get that number, then you'll know for sure what you have.
