2000 vette c1217 code
My 2000 vert has a steady C1217 code. It comes on as soon as the car moves after clearing. I'm also getting an occasional C1243 code. The car had them (along with other problems) when I bought it. From what I've read, the pre 2001's aren't being fixed. Does anyone have more information on the relay, it's location, and solutions? I'm sure it's causing the ASR lamp and the ABS light to come on along with three messages.

A tech2 is your friend in diagnosing the problem. Appears to be a bad steering sensor which is located on the bottom of the steering column.

If you can find someone with a Tech2 locally you can try the automated bleed procedure to see if that fixes things for you. Sometimes the relays stick.
