Default Those with 4.10s and power...

Does your car hook at all in 2nd gear and up in warmer temps? (spring/summer). I am planning/saving for my next go fast mod to make up for the warmer air in a few months and I was thinking of putting the 4.10's in...but if the car is just going to break traction all over the place on street tires, I may reconsider.

Right now I am about 460 rwhp....1st gear is useless, but believe it or not 2nd gear dead hooks, even in the cold winter temps. That is with the stock 3.42's.

I added 4.10's to my ZO6 while all else was stock and original Goodyears. Just LT's, CAI and a tune, no traction till the upper side of 2nd.

Summer temps, above 460rwhp, n/a and I would loose traction in 3rd, not fun...

It'll take learning throttle control in the beginning with new 4.10s if you are coming off 3.42's. Can't just dump it and expect it to hook.

Currently running MT DR's for the time being. Now she just goes. I'll admit, it was more fun at times just lighting em up at will and less of a shock on the drive-train too.

Oh yea, ...4.10s in a Z'....don't blink in 1st gear....

Yeah your 1-3 gears are basically the equivalent of me running a 4.56 rear lol. I am just a regular FRC, so I have the steeper gears.

Anyway, I have been researching all day and I am dead set on this mod. I am just not sure if I want to go with 3.90s or 4.10s. I will have a 6600 redline, which will put me right at 128 mph in 4th gear. That is what I predict my car would be trapping with 460 rwhp (maybe more?). I guess if I run out of gear, I can just get a taller tire. I most definitely will NOT be spinning to 7k on my '99.
