That tire has obviously been mounted and dismounted. A careless tire jockey should have used a little more soap when he was doing the job. If the rubber tears are not all the way through and above the steel beading, there is absolutely no reason not to use the tire. It is safe and will not disintegrate on you based on the areas shown. If you don't want to use it, I will pay postage and you can send it to me. Two questions 1) Where are you going to be able to run 180 MPH ? 2) On the serious side, what are the date codes on the tire ? Old age - more than 5-6 years old has a much greater effect on safety than the pics shown.

I had the tire inspected, everything checked out. I have a good year out of this tire because of it's age. All that said, I don't intend to use it at excessive speeds. It will be the set for me to use for daily driving until open road racing starts up.
Looks like its been installed and removed from the rim multiple times. Might of had a rookie on the tire machine that day and he damaged the bead. It should be fine to seal against the rim. Personally I would use it for daily driving and keep an eye on the pressure to make sure its not leaking. Best of luck.
