I'm finally convinced to get headers on my 2000 A 4.I have a vararam intake,Ti exhaust and a tune. Now,after looking at the different headers,I see prices from $900 to $1700.What's the difference and what should I be looking for. Thanks again for all your help!!
Since no one has answered, I will. I installed ARH 1 3/4" long tube headers with their
x pipe and have never been sorry. I have a Vara Ram, ported throttle body and a tune.
When I installed the headers without the tune, I was absolutely amazed at the difference in power, I added the throttle body and Vara Ram later and each addition added more power. I also have a 160 degree thermostat. When I had the tune, it brought all the power togather. I would suggest ARH, Kooks, LG long tubes. I'm sure there is a little bit of difference in the various brands but for a street car, I doubt that you would notice the difference. I also have the TI's but I don't believe there is any power difference from the stock cat backs to the TI's. There is a large (26 pound) weight difference in the two. The TI's are that much lighter.
I run Jet Hot's coated headers. Ceramic coated inside and outside. Never liked SS as it turns over a period of time and unless coated lets a lot more heat into the engine compartment. Don't know the price now, but when I bought mine they were a little over $600 shipped.

Lots of the lower priced ones are copies of other headers. No real R & D here. People buy them so they continue to do it. Some don't even know they're buying knock offs.
Some are the other lower priced headers are made of mild steel.
Another thing to look at is what is included. I know some kits start off low priced but you only get the headers. The mid pipes etc. are extra.
If you can swing the price I would go with kooks or arh. I have had both on previous camaros. And it was my understanding that stainless steel keeps the heat in the header. And will never rust.
As far as HP is concerned they are all pretty close to each other and I mean close (couple HP difference - I've seen Dyno tests with my own eyes)
Pick a set of 1 3/4" Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers, Hiflow Cats and X-pipe (Buy the manufacturers package for best deal) - you will love how they wake up and really compliment the TI exhaust and don't drone you out of the Vette -
i am running 701 RWHP through my KOOK's header set-up and C5 Z06 TI mufflers currently and many are making even more - I will be running more through mine in the next couple of months -
Look-Up C5 Z06 Muffler Autopsy here on the Forum and see what I did to it, you will see the inner workings of the TI exhaust - Amazing how quiet they can be a yet flow so dang good!
