99 oil pressure sending unit
My oil pressure sending unit is bad and displaying 123# of oil pressure on the gauge. Does anybody know of a mechanic in the West Ky.. Sou. IL or West TN. area that can fix cheaply. I hate spending $300+ on something this simple. Thanks...

There's a ton of threads in here about the Oil Pressure Senders failing. Its not a hard job at all to do yourself and easier than you might think. Yes, you either need someone with very small wrists/hands or pull the intake which is easy to do. Do you have a place it can be taken apart and do you have the wrenching ability? Sockets, extensions, ratchet, two pieces of tape, oil pressure sender socket for installing/removal, shopvac is nice to have...new sensor(brass one). Takes about 30 minutes first time to get the intake off.

Very easy to do did mine yesterday tools needed 1/4 ratchet,pliers., 8mm short and long 1/4 inch sockets , 27 inch deep socket for oil sending unit , 1/4 inch torque wrench found it at harbor freight for under $20.00 , screw drivers and an ice chest full of cold beer and 3 hours of time is what it took there is a post on tech page under Sticky ultimate DIY/FAQ with the best instructions and pictures in order. spent around 51.00
