Default weight cray wheels

Does anyone know why cray wheels are so heavy?
What are they made of and does it make a difference
in performance

Just guessing...made offshore, cast aluminum process and chrome plating.

Anytime you add significant extra weight (from past threads, CRAY wheels may be 5+# each heavier than oem), it may effect handling, braking, steering, fuel economy and acceleration.
