Default New fuel filter no good?

So I was trying to hunt down a no start after a head and exhaust swap.

I also tossed in a 255lph pump and new OE replacement filter (local store NON GM)

So I checked pressure at the rail and got 20psi while the pump was on then nothing.

Pulled the line at the pump and saw 80+PSI coming out of the pump.

I read some issues with new filters that are non GM?

Go figure I tossed the old filter out a month ago.

Does this seem right?

2000 FRC Vette

Thanks

Jay

What are you defining as "early"?

97-98 do not have a regulator integrated into the filter, because it's on the fuel rail. 99 - 03 w/o FFS, have the regulator integrated into the filter, and 03-04 w/FFS have the filter and regulator integrated into the pump/sender assembly.

Well the one I put on doesnt even have a damn part number!

I just went to partsource and got a replacement for 40 bucks. Maybe I will call the dealer and get an OEM GM one.

Ive read a few stories on people putting in over the counter filters and having issues.

I ordered a AC Delco GF-822 from rockauto, hopefully this will solve my issues!
I will update next week.

Local CDN Price 149.99. Rock Auto $70!

I was able to get a new ac delco fuel filter, 2 oil filters, tr55 plugs and 3 inch band clamps for my X pipe shipped for less than a damn fuel filter local.

Well the filter worked! Sucks i didnt keep the recipt from the other filter i bought.

I will have to email rock auto also. I paid $70 for a AC DELCO, opened the box up and it was a WIX part number. If I wanted the wix I would have bought it and saved the cash!

I got a OEM look alike for about $12. Original one was leaking due to deteriorated nylon retainer to fuel line. New filter came with 2 new retainers. Don't use the old ones or you might get a gasoline bath on your left muffler.

I think WIX makes just about all the filters now. They are sold under lots of different names.
