Default 2" primary header options

I am looking for a good set of 2" primary headers. I have seen that both kooks and american racing headers make them. I am just wondering who makes the best set and why?

What size motor are you installing that you feel you need 2" primaries?
1-7/8 should be fine for anything up to and including a 440" motor.
1-7/8 stepped up to 2" might be a good alternative also. I know ARH makes them for Corvettes, not sure about Kooks. I do know from personal experience with ARH that they are an easy install.

You already have LG pros which are great headers! I don't understand why you would want to spent the $$$ on 2" headers when you will see very little to no hp gain, you will also lose bottom end torque!

Can you share with us why you want or need 2" headers.

I run 2" headers on and Fbody. I have 457 cubic inches though and need them. ARH was the best fitting header I used and I ran Kooks SW and ARH.

The Vette is a little different but the headers are going to be of the same quality. You wont go wrong with ARH, Kooks, LG Motorsports, or SW IMO... ARH was offering a better collector by default where I think you had to pay for the upgrade from some of the others but I think they all offer the same now as a standard. I dont see 2" listed on LG's. I know ARH will make 2" or anything a person wants. We can help you with them if you like. Why do you want 2" ?

Would you like to donate your LGs to me if you go the 2" route?

Well i am planning an engine swap. I am going to do a sleeved ls2 that is at least 454ci, so i figure that 2" headers would work the best.

I'm getting a LSX 440 from Vengence and they recommended 2" but I'm also shooting it 300-400 with gas. I went with Kook's and had them coated with Jet Hot. I'm luckey as I will put them on THEN install my engine......

Thanks, those are good pics, i should have been more clear, do any of you have pictures of the ARH's. I think it will be a toss up either way(kooks/ARH). I just dont want to have to do anything crazy to get them to fit like removing the a/c, etc. Also i am assuming that you have to delete the A.I.R. system correct? Thanks again for the help guys!
