Default Gas Gauge, after 1/4-1/3 it drops to Empty

Gas Gauge, after 1/4-1/3 it drops to Empty.

car still drives.

When I fill it, goes to just past 1/2 way, and eventually back to full after many many minutes.

If the gauge works normal, and I fill @ 1/4 tank, it shows full right away.

Is this the sender unit? (and if so, what kind of a job is it to do)

Or?

Thanks for the input

This is a common problem... Use the search and you'll find lots of good info... Also read out the error codes. Again, search for a list.. Have fun..

Thanks for the input.

I did the search, and had many many posts, the sender, the orfice in the pump, the gauge etc...

I think it is the sender, and I will try the Techron.

Sounds like that is my issue (hope so, nice and easy, and low cost )

Given that the sending unit has to be changed if techron is not your solution. you will need to do more research if this is your case because the process is different for late model c5. hope the techron works!!!!

03-04 tank
