I did the search thing but either missed it or it's not there. I need a 6 point roll bar for my convertible. I don't care so much about NHRA legal, I just need one to save my life in a roll. The top must still work and the seat needs to go all the way back. Hey, I just want it all. I live in So.Cal. so I would like to find an installer out this way. I saw the post on a company in Texas, but that's just too far for me to drive. If nothing else pans out I guess I will have to ship my car to Texas! Thanx all! Jeff
JC: Maybe a little paranoid? Would rather have the builder also do the install. Worst case I guess what you suggest is what I could do. Does anybody know someone in So.Cal to do the install???

I agree. :) I would think it would be more expensive that way (for you,) but if you can swing it, it's probably the best thing. Good luck, either way!
Re: Still looking for Convert roll bar! (jeffh355)
Be sure to post if you find one.
I'm starting to think that we won't ever have a great option for roll bars in a vert. The only approach that seems like it will work well would be one that comes apart and is used with the top down. Otherwise the bar is so low it looks like you'd do more damage by hitting your head on it than you would without a bar.

wallstAL: Thanx for the lead. I just called WestCoast Corvettes and they didn't have what I wanted but seemed willing to build me one. They may be an option for installing the SpeedWORKS bar or making my own. If nothing else pans out I will drive over there next week and see what we can come up with.
Re: Still looking for Convert roll bar! (Troy Roberts)
Hey Troy,
Speaking from first hand experience, any cage in a C5 which uses the hoop and crossbar configuration will impact your head if you're wearing the stock seatbelt. Even with a 5 pt harness, your seat will impact the cross bar which will ring your bell or worse depending on on how hard you get it hit.
My very strong recommendation is to immediately pad the overhead loop and the cross bar behind and above both the driver AND passengers seats to minimize the impact of your head with the bar. I'm 5'10' and was rear ended and got knocked cookoo for about 30 seconds from the impact, basically ending up with double whiplash from the impact of the rearending and then my head hitting the seat and the seat slamming into the crossbar. Understand, that's exactly what the crossbar is supposed to do is stop your seat from collapsing rearward in a wreck. Sooo... pad the bars and avoid the headache.
