Remove the console shift plate and shifter boot.There is a pin located on the front of the shifter.When in neutral,you should be able to push the pin down into the hole located on the shift rod on the front of the shifter.If not,the shifter base can be loosened (2 torx bolts) and the shifter can be slid foward or backward on the torque tube to align the pin with the hole....On occasion,the pin is simply missing.A 1/8" drill bit will sufice. :yesnod:

Thanks again I was worried that the rattle in my shifter was caused by the shift fork laying against the synchros. I have done clutches and rearends before but never had to remove the trans from the torque tube.
