Can anyone give me some easy tips on removing the bezel from around the stereo on my 50th AE? The dealer removed it and did not out it back right. I know that all of you think I should take it back to the dealer however, if they couldn't do it right the first time why bother. I think I can do it myself.
There are male/female metal clips, plastic covers, hidden TORX screws, nuts and wires to deal with if you want to remove the entire surround.
This link has to do with installing a column lock bypass, but in doing so you also have to remove the surround. There are good detailed images and instructions which should help you...
Use the instructions in the Vette Essentials link. I'm gutting my interior and that is an example of how to do it right. It's an easy job. Takes about 15 minutes. You just need a few tools to do it which they list in the article.
Thanks for all the replies. I followed instructions and accomplished the feat without any problems. It just proves that if you can fix it yourself, do it. The dealer will not take the care and be as particular as us Corvette owners. Nobody loves them better than their owner
