This DTC popped up a few weeks ago and in my search for the cause I found that the plastic restraint on the passenger side had broken and the connector came into contact with one of the header tubes. http://millam.tackitt.net/DSC02454.JPG
I have adaptors to use the rear O2 sensors for the front O2.
I found no short circuit caused by the burn. All of the wiring leading to the sensors is in good shape and routed safely.
I replaced the O2, fixed the restraint, and cleared the DTC. The DTC came on again so I checked the underhood fuses. All good there.
This is not a constant DTC either. Some days it is there and some days it is not.
With the other electrical problems going on I am changing out the battery. Mine tests good on every test run but an exchange will help remove all doubt.
Heck. It turns out that the two(!) Bosch sensors were bad. So when I swapped one out I still had the problem. I tested the circuit and had power to the sensor and both sensors read ~4.8Ω. But I swapped with one of my stock O2s and now things are OK.
Unusual for two to be bad.

I am not running headers, but I've recently started blowing the 02 sensor fuse in my 04. Replaced it and drove on a 4-5 trips yesterday and the CEL came back on start up on my last errand.
I need to pass emissions inspection and it's just hilarious that it's doing this to me a few weeks before it's due.
If the fuse keeps blowing is it a short circuit/wiring issue? This is the only code i get. Car seeeeems to be a little chuggy but hard to tell when it's so hot outside.

Only thing I would suggest is getting underneath the car and start tracing the wiring from each O2 sensor and look for any chaffed wires…you’re bound to find one somewhere !!

Update: before I went to the store I checked the mini fuse I replaced and it's still good! So hmmmmm.... yeah... I don't have ramps low enough for this car to get onto. I'll have to order some.
I cleared the code and see what happens next. When it did it yesterday I was driving it a LOT and it definitely was probably pretty hot down there by the time I got home.
