Default Help!

I pulled my ls1 out of the vette late last night and was trying to identify what clutch is in the driveline. I was told it was upgraded with a lightweight flywheel.

When I got the motor out the first thing I did was look at the clutch, only thing is there is NO MARKINGS on the pressure plate. It is how ever a solid red color. There looks to be a billet flywheel, not sure if it is "lightweight" as i was told when purchasing. No other identifying characteristics. I didn't take any pics because it was 8:00 last night when I got it out on the ground in my driveway. Does anyone know what this might be? It doesn't look new by any means and the pedal is fairly stiff as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
-Ryan

Now that we got that out of the way. Is there any reason that you pulled the motor to look at the clutch besides curiosity?

Yes. I dropped a valve and the motor is toast. Lol I wouldn't pull a motor out of a c5 for fun. Idk if anyone would for that matter.

She likes red.
You can't give her red.

A Ram is red.

I want some of what you are either drinking or smokin.....

Anyway,

Just inspect it during your R/R and you might have some better idea as your next step... Did the clutch work well for you?

It worked very well. No complaints from me. When it went the 4.10s were pushing 425ftlbs and it never slipped. But I did eat through the 11in 555r's in 7 months. I launched the car a few times and it was great. I was very happy with it.

But with plans for a 750hp turbo build in the coming months, I went ahead and ordered a stg4 monster clutch setup with billet lightweight flywheel and new slave.

And thanks for the reply about the clutch. Any reason as to why it's that one? Only reason I ask is because aren't mcleods red? Maybe centerforce? After I actually get it off, is there a specific spot to look for identifying marks?

The first part was from a kids book. I'm mostly sober.

It really might be a Ram clutch. They are red.

That looks exactly like the one on my motor now. Thanks!

Any idea which ram? How many different ram clutches are out for ls1's?

The clutch in the picture I posted is a Ram HD.
