I had an idle surging issue and the car would hang at high rpms until a complete stop was made. I pestered Texas Speed and Performance for help cause I thought my newly machined heads affected their tune and would they kindly send me another to fix the issue. They kindly advised me to look for a vacuum leak, which I did and couldn't find. I was very certain NO WAY could there be one, and even reinstalled my intake manifold again to ensure no vacuum leaks.
I tried and tried to upload a tune or two to make it run right to no avail! I was truly getting worried and was getting no where. I was desperate and even getting ready to replace my O2 sensors to see if it would help.
This is what happened yesterday.....I pulled my FRC's off and let the engine idle like I have done a dozen times looking for a vacuum leak. I standing there aggravated and THE ENGINE STARTED TO WHISTLE! YEP, whistled at me like someone would whistle to you. I stood there and heard it coming from the hose that goes from the oil catch can to the intake manifold. Yep that's right, plain as day and the engine had to TELL ME where it was at! TOO FUNNY!
Of course I called TSP and told them they were RIGHT ALL ALONG!
I'm going to slow down on the mods for now. Next will be a high rise hood. Then after that I'll hope to install a 416 LS3 from Mast Motorsports in a year or two.
