Default Lowered Car + Larger Tires ... problems?

Right now I am not 100% set on any one size, but I believe that I will be getting Nitto 555 Extremes. In general, I am looking at either a 255 or 275 on the front with a 285 or 295 on the rear, depending on the sidewall sizes I can get.

For those of you that have lowered your car, have you run into any different or more magnified clearance issues when going with larger-than-stock tires?

I only plan to drop the car as far as the stock bolts with modified bushings will go. Which is purportedly 3/4". Anyone see any problems with this plan?

Brett, I'm lowered about two inches, and my wheel and tire combo is in my sig. I get a tiny bit of rub in the front when I turn the wheel to full lock. At 9/10ths, there is no problem. No rubbing at all in the back. You will not have any problems with your planned set up. It will look great!

Depends...
Stock wheels??

You may bulge with 265's or 275's on an 8.5".
Backspacing past 7.75" on a 17" Front will have problems with the Front control arms on the rear lower side. Less that 7.75" shouldn't have a problem. 275's on the proper backspaced 9.5's shouldn't be an issue. Minor rub maybe. 265's on a 9.5 should be no problem.

But we're talking a stock 8.5" right?
I wouldn't do a 275 on that.

No problems here. Lowered with stock bolts & no bushings cut. See sig below.
