Default Automatic orange shift indicator

I got tired of the little orange plastic auto shift indicator breaking.I've replaced it with used ones I've found twice.
Made my own in 3 hours out of metal and locally available parts. Anyone interested?

Default Some of us have broken ones post your construction details

Last time I was under the boot was to disconnect the Park solenoid. My indicator has since bitten the dust. Would be interested in what you came up with. Pics please. BIGHANK

My only problem is I can't for the life of me figure out how to put pictures on this website.
I built a indicator out of metal, and I had a spare shifter to install it and get the size and shape right.
As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures, I'll do it. any help will be appreciated

I've never had the problem of that little piece breaking. How does it happen?

Mine is fine too. But from what I have read, the bulb get's hot enough it melts the plastic piece over time and it breaks. A LED might fix the problem for one that is working still before it breaks.

Default Indicator

I'm looking at $45.00 to build each one.It took me 3 hours to build and adjust the first one.
Understand, It's not the cost of the materials. After it is built it's the time it takes to work with it in an actual shifter to make sure it doesnt rub or bind up. After I do that, then I can paint it and put the white teflon based tape on to help it slide easier.
Contact me at my yahoo address.

I understand it is a dealer or complete assembly purchase. That is why I made my own.

Actually, you HAVE more info than you know.
Awesome. The parts that are in the first picture show the lens and the PRND21 housing removed from the black plastic bezel that they are clipped to somehow...How do you remove that Black plastic piece that has the PRND21 from the black housing frame (the piece with the 3 pieces that you need to pinch (12 oclock, 6 oclock, and 3 oclock), and how did you remove the clear plastic lens from the top of the PRND21??
These are the important questions.
Once I figure out how to remove the PRND21 housing so I can hold it in my hand and how to remove the clear lens, I can remove the broken orange piece that is still on top of the "P" and install this new one.

Any advise would be golden.

Thanks again for the response
