Hey guys, right now I have Hawk HPS pads on the car. Theyve seen mostly street duty and have been great. I even had them on the car when I did top speed runs at a dry lake, stopping the car from 190mph without issues. Thing is Im looking at some HPDE's coming up and was wondering if it would be worth swapping the HPS pads to some HP+ pads I have sitting around. Would the HP+ pads perform better at the track then the HPS pads? Also,do I need to clean the rotors if swapping from HPS to HP+? I dont know how different the two compounds are. Thnx

I've had both, I like the HP+ over the HPS for the following reasons: The HP+ have more initial bite and they were more resistant to fade. The HP+ will dust more than the HPS, and I did not clean my rotors when switching from the HPS to the HP+. Follow the bedding in procedure in the instructions, it's important.
I did the same switch and didn't clean the rotors. Had no issues. If you have them laying around then no real cons for swapping them. Just go for it. They are noisier and dust more like others have said
Thanks for the input guys. The dust and noise doesnt bother me. Im more concerned with stopping power and distance than how my wheels look. I think I'll throw the hp plus pads on there and see how they feel.
