Default Steering rack removal help

Whats the easiest way to get the steering rack out? Trying to twist and turn to get it to come out either through top or one of the wheel well sides but not having any luck. Am i going to have to piece it out? Advice please

When I took mine out. I found I got the most room by taking off one of the hard lines on the rack (the 16mm one), disconnecting the sway bar and loosening the front subframe bolts and lowering the subframe down alittle, to gain more clearance. By doing that I was able to get it out by pulling it out of the driverside. It did take some turning and twisting still though.

I'm curious...are you removing the rack due to rack problems, or to take care of an issue with the engine's balancer?

Was able to get it out through the top by removing the waterpump for more clearance! Thanks

Lift it up where it's out of the frame then roll it forward where the steering box is in front. Then take it part way out of the passenger side well till you can drop the drivers side down below the frame then remove it out thru the drivers side.

That sounds a lot easier than what I did, I managed to get mine out through the drivers side wheel well without droping it down below the frame or anything. I think I had to turn it at least 720* but I finally got it out, put it in the same way too. I think the opening is actually smaller than the box..
