Default Help with radiator reservoir sensor

I had to take off my radiator reservoir for some repairs a few weeks ago and now I'm having a little trouble figuring out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to plug the little sensor back into the reservoir underneath it, but I can't get it to stay in the slot that it plugs into. I don't know if I'm just missing something to it... but when you plug it in, there isn't anything there to hold it in and it just pops out. I don't see anything broken on the tab that it plugs into either.

I'm sure its just something simple, but I can't figure it out. If someone could post a picture of what it looks like and how its held in position, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Default Coolant overflow tank

You may have a broken connection at the bottom of your coolant tank. There is no sensor on this tank that I am aware of. there is a "T" connection where two tubes are connected to the bottom of the tank. There is a brass tube that is bonded into the plastic tank on the side closest to the firewall. The "T" connector is a common failure point of this part over time, as the brass fractures away from the tank.

The repair is to replace the tank. Keep your old cap. It is not included with the new assembly.

The "T" connection is fine on my tank, that's where I got two hoses connected to and they are still good. So there's no sensor on this tank? There is a little open looking tab on the bottom of the tank and it just looks like something would go in there. I should've took a picture of it when I was disassembling it but of course I didn't.

Just did a little research on here... and looks like it's officially called the low coolant sensor that I'm referring to. If I recall correctly, I just unplugged it from the tank... nothing special. But I don't see how it "clips" or stays on the tank as there isn't anything there to hold it to the tank. Some of the other connectors on the car has tabs to hold whatever sensor where it should be... this one doesn't.

I did read on to see that the 00-04 tanks are different than the 97-99. I figure that I'll get a "low coolant" warning on the dic because of this sensor unless its either plugged in or jumpered.

There is a sensor laying close to the surge tank on my frame that looks like it would go into the surge tank, and I thought I unplugged it from there. But I've taken so much stuff off the car, my memory is fuzzy on if I really did or not. It's possible the sensor I'm looking at might just go somewhere else.

I guess I'll know for sure once I get the car back together and ready to start it up again and see if it throws a code for it or not.
