Default to Do or not TO DO, SUPERCHARGE

I see alot of talk about poor results and/or multiple problems with the ATI supercharger kits. For those of you that have installed one yourself, whats the real deal? Programming a big problem? Performance improvement VS $$$
was it worth it?

You'll have better luck if your car is completely stock. As far as power, there's enough to spin your stock EMT in 3rd. Worth the $$ ? You decide... :D

I tend to agree with this. My car was not stock and it broke -- badly -- a very expensive proposition.

Just remember, if you do it, you're taking a risk. If you can't, or don't want, to afford the consequences, don't do it.

As with any new product it does take some tries before a newly released product is perfected. R&D on these supercharges probably could of lasted a bit longer, but so many owners have been chomping at the bit and the manufactures should of held the distribution back a tad longer. The kits being made today have been improved since the first releases so who knows when it would be a good time to buy... They will continue to improve as they manufacture so it really all depends upon your comfort level and the opinions of those who have gone before you... Good luck!

My Supercharger has been on my car since March of 2001, no problems with the Performance Technical Center system.

In a word...YES. My supercharger setup came from Performance Technical Center and it has run flawlessly for over a year. I am currently upgrading my engine and supercharger but only because I wanted more horsepower. The PTC kit costs more than the others, but it works and it makes good power. If you don't mind a lot of test and tune you may want to look at the ATI kit. If you want to just drive the car with a lot of power call Geoff at PTC.

I installed the ATI Procharger on my 2001 LS1 6-speed convertible about a month ago. It was well worth the money and is well engineered for the car. I've had no problems with it or with the programming. You just have to make sure that they are aware of any mods that you have already made or plan to make at the same time and they incorporate that into the programmer. Let me know if you need more info and I can also let you know who you can get it from at dealer cost, if you want to save some money. He also makes sure that ATI gets the right information re: the programmer. The car can go toe to toe with anything on the road now and Z-06's or Mustang Cobras don't have a chance of staying with it. I'm looking for Vipers and Turbo Porsches to mess with now.

If you have the money and time to take care of possible tuning issues as well as drivetrain upgrades... then I would say do it. The good news is that the C5 is a great car right out of the box, some people see no need to do anything to it at all. (Although I dont know anybody like that) ! ;)
