Default 2003 LH door lock relay issue

I believe I have a bad LH door lock relay. The lock mechanism is getting some power to it because it does twitch when you hit the lock unlock button but will not actually lock or unlock. Used a test light on the wiring connection and get a red light when I activate the lock button. Bought a used lock mechanism replacement and hooked up the wiring but it des the same thing. I am guessing the relay is sending power to the lock actuator but not strong enough output to actually make the actuator work. I found a used relay from the same year car as mine but it has a different part#. The seller says if part #'s arent the same the relay will not communicate to the FOB?
Anyone know about this? I may just have to order the relays and have them soldered in.

I think your terminology may be confusing anyone trying to help. There is a separate relay for lock and for unlock. They are in the door control module and they don't communicate with the fob. The RFA behind the driver seat communicates with the fob and the tpms. It is not your problem. The left and right door control modules are interchangeable, so you could switch them for troubleshooting. The relays are soldered inside the door control modules. There are several DIY fixes on the forum with pictures showing which relay is which, but if neither the lock nor unlock work on yours, you may have other issues. You may have a bad connection or ground. If you have a spare door control module, or the one from the passenger side, you can switch to see if the problem is in the module. Of course, you could have both the lock and unlock relays bad, but search the fourm for the fix and it will help determine what the problem is.
