Grinds in 5th
My 2001 6 sp will grind during the 1st shift of the day into 5th. After that it is good till the next cold start. Any thoughts? Is a syncro on the way out? The car has 60K on the odometer and I have never changed the transmission oil.

It could be few things but I would try changing the fluid first. I recommend GM # 88861800.

Mine did this after I changed to Mobil 1 ATF (incompatible) after 50,000 miles. I changed to Amsoil ATD and it stopped immediately. Mine was grinding more than once a day.
