Default Texas Speed Headers?? Any info/reviews?

Hey guys looking to get a set of headers and I am strongly considering the ceramic coated Texas speed headers/off road x pipe combo. Any info would be helpful in this decision making process. Thank you

I just finished installing the Texas Speed headers and 3" x-pipe on a friend's 04 Coupe. The headers fit well and still look fresh after the first 300 miles of street driving. You will need O2 wiring extensions if you plan to re-use your OEM front O2 sensors. The 3" x-pipe was a little tight to fit on an automatic car. Very little clearance past the transmission with these larger pipes. But since the C5 has good exhaust support, I don't think you will have any problem with the pipes bumping the frame or transmission. I did have to supply my own 3/8" bolts to connect the cat-back flange to the TS&P x-pipe. It would have been nice if they supplied those bolts and new flange gaskets. The headers don't come with hardware or gaskets either, but you can re-use the original bolts and gaskets from the manifolds.
All in all, this is a nice setup for a decent price. Now go for it.

Edit - you will have the check engine light trigger for deleting the rear O2 sensors and likely have nuisance triggers due to moving the front O2 sensors further away from the engine (i.e. insufficient switching activity). HP Tuner or EFI Live can easily correct this for you.

I have had them for over a year on mine. I live in S Florida. This is my daily driver and the car has never seen the inside of a garage. Even after constant rain and road grime they still look like they are new. I was able to install them in an afternoon myself on jackstands.
The passengers side dropped straight in. I had to remove the steering link (not sure if that is the correct term) for the drivers. Also remove the alternator, coil packs and valve covers for better clearance. I used the stock exhaust manifold bolts. GMPP wires and the stock oem heat shields fit perfectly. These pipes do not have provisiosn for the AIR so you have to either tune that out or deal with the CEL. What year do you have? it is an 00 or older you will need an 01+ oil dipstick as well.

I have ceramic coated headers with the x pipe as well. Haven't installed them yet, but they should be going in this weekend. They do no come with any bolts or gaskets. You will need O2 extensions. I also ordered new header bolts and new OEM gaskets. Texas speed sells all of that stuff as well.

I just used (4) 3/8" coarse thread bolts that I had in my bolt bin. If you are buying them 1½" or 2" will work.

The Texas Speed headers are true long tubes with 32" primaries. This will make the engine much happier in the midrange w/o any sacrifice in the top end.
Although I have a used set of XS power to install, I am considering these. I actually like the cermaic coated look. Looks more "hotrod" to me. Even though you don't really see much of them from up top.

After many hours spent mulling over which headers to buy...I purchased a set of TSP headers.

They are going on mid March, along with a tune.

I'll report back with fit, finish & dyno numbers!

I just got mine in last week. Couldn't be happier with them. Made the car run and sound amazing. Took the opportunity to do 228R cam and new clutch. Next year I'm getting a supercharger so the car is ready. Awesome header deal from TSP that won't disappoint.

The ceramic coating does wonders for keeping the heat inside the exhaust pipe, much less heat into the engine compartment. I still remember how surprised I was about this when helping my cousin with his race car after he got a set of coated headers for it. Night and day difference in heat control.

I have mine on now and I really like them. Nice low rumble at idle and at WOT the sound is amazing. A bit louder than the stock manifolds. I used locking header bolts & new GM gaskets and there is a good seal around the headers. It also cleans up the engine bay a bit, not having the egr lines there. Really happy with these!

Mine sound wicked with the TSP 228R @ 114. Nice rumbling idle. Romp on it and they are really loud. I have B&B PRT axle back.
