Default HELP!!! Spark plug wire routing!!

I just changed the spark plugs on my Z and I took the wire boots off on the drivers side, broke a couple on the passenger side. I want to put the new boots on but are they supposed to be in a certain order? The wires are all the same length but I wanted to ask to be sure.

Based on your last post in the other thread you have going on this same topic :http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...t-tune-up.html

I doubt your spark plugs are at the correct torque. Just curious....what type of plugs did you use? Were they pre-gapped?

It's common to damage the wires upon removal, which is why Bill suggested you get new wires. That being said, purchase NEW wires, do not try to replace the boots only.

There is no "order" for the plug wires, nor are they numbered. There is one plug wire for each spark plug, and one corresponding coil directly above each cylinder, mounted to the valve cover. The plug wires are all the same length.

No distributor = no spark plug numbering/order.

No offense, but as already suggested, you really need to partner up with someone that knows what they are doing.

Good luck.

I have new wires. I also torqued the plugs. Its been awhile since I did a tune up. Its good to know that there is no certain order for the plug wires. The spark plugs are AC Delco Iridiums.
