Burning Oil
I have a 99 c5 corvette coupe with 98k miles. Vararam b2, Kooks 1 7/8's headers with catless x-pipe, B&B Bullet quad tip exhaust. Professionally tuned about a year ago. Since then I've noticed a increase in white smoke coming from my exhaust during decel after WOT. I am currently burning oil at a rate of 1 quart per month. I had a compression test done and the results show even compression across all cylinders. I installed a oil catch can in hopes that pcv was the culprit. No luck. Does this confirm that my oil is leaking through valve guide seals? Will a valve job fix my issue? Any input is appreciated. Thanks
'01 Z, LT headers, catless x, rich tune, burns oil.
Not trying to hijack, but hopefully get more responses for yours, as well as mine, lol
I had puff of blue smoke on start-up and evetually saw blue smoke behind me after WOT and letting off the throttle. It WAS valve stem seals and I had them replaced and used that opportunity to have the heads worked over and milled for more horsepower.
Problem solved!
