I need some help/advice on my clutch. Over the winter I replaced the clutch with a McLeod RST, pressure plate, clutch disc, slave cylinder and a remote bleeder. I have put it all back together up to the tunnel plate installation. Over the weekend I bleed the clutch remote bleeder using vacuum bleeding and ran a quart of brake fluid through the system. I pumped the clutch pedal about 5-10 times and now have a firm pedal. The problem is I’m getting fluid on the floor at the bottom of the bell housing. I really don’t want to drop the drive train out . Any suggestions, comments, ideas or help.
Your fitting where the clutch remote bleeder & slave cylinder meet, is probably leaking. If you hadn't mentioned that the slave was brand new, I would have been most certain that it was the culprit.
By the way, out of curiousity, which brand remote did you go with?
If you don't have longtubes, you may be able to track down & repair the problem.... as long as it's not the slave.
If it is the slave, Break open the tool box.
Good luck.
Check the remote bleeder attachment to the slave...they leak there sometimes...you will need someone to hold in the clutch while you look for a leak. You will need to remove the access plate to perform this inspection.
