Approach lights

I am able to disable it in the DIC but it turns them all off. The dsl, rear, and running lights. I was just wondering about leaving the fogs off and every thing else on. Trying to save on wear and tear on the HID ballasts of the fogs.

OEM fogs do not have ballasts. Now if you have replaced them with HID fogs, then you would need to install a relay, in circuit that you would manually control with a switch somewhere.

Whether you have HID or halogen lights when the approach lights are set to turn on when unlocking the car by remote they come on with the park lights, rear lights, etc..
I was just wondering if there was something I was missing that could leave the fog lights off but the others keep coming on, shy of unplugging the fog lights.

I just fixed this. I have HID fog's so blinking them everytime i locked/unlocked was no good. So i added a relay that was powered by the O2 sensor circuit and switched the signal wire to the ballasts. So the foglights can only come on if the key is in the on position. To do this on a non HID application you would need to pull the fuse and do some wiring.
