TR55IX Plug Gap for 2003 50th
Just picked up some TR55IX plugs and I was looking for plug gap info. I pulled a few threads off the forum from 2005 but wasn't sure if they were accurate to my 2003 50th?
Some say run .059 out of the box
Some say run .055-.045

I've not really heard of anyone gaping these plugs. They are the iridium ones correct? If so that tip is very very fine and any pressure on it could easily snap it. It would be a costly plug to replace. And if any of the plugs have their iridium tips missing, I don't think it would work properly. Leave them at .059 for your C5. Cheers.

I read a service bulletin here that the gap on LS engines should be 0.040". GM lowered it due to misfiring and surging complaints. I believe you buy a TR5 plug, not the TR55 to get the correct gap.

Is anyone pushing a .050 gap? The more we tighten that gap the less dwell and more gas we're throwing away.. just wondering if anyone is running between both recommendations to get the benefits of both.
