I have a 02 Z06 with original tires and going with new tires could I run 275-40-17 up front and 305-40-18 at rear on stock wheels, without any issues, I do track the car 4 or 5 times a year, thanks

Use this calculator to determine the difference in specs of your oem and new tires: front to front sizes, rear to rear sizes. It'll also show % of error to expect of speedometer readings with the new front/rear tires...

You might want to consider trying to stay as close to possible to the oem tires OD to avoid traction control and active handling issues. That will also reduce speedometer error. The C5 obviously came from the factory with a "staggered" difference in OD from front to rear.

For the track it's my understanding its not as much of an issue if you turn traction control and active handling off. I don't race my car so when I recently changed from 17/18" to 18/19", I made sure the OD of the new tires (265/35-18" and 305/30-19") was almost exactly the same OD as oem.
