Heater Hoses - when to replace?
I have been doing my 10yr/100K service on my 03. Have already done plugs, wires, gear oil, auto trans fluid/filter, brakes, shocks, fuel senders, belts, O2 sensors, fuel inj flush. I am planning on replacing the radiator hoses and fluid and got to thinking about whether to replace the heater hoses. Are these something that need replacing or are they "fly-to-fail" items?

I probably went "way overkill" on my car. It's an '01 coupe that I bought brand new in July of 2001. It has 20,000 miles on it, but I feel that 10 years is enough on hoses. I replaced them last summer with the silicone hoses and I also used the Gates "heat shrink" clamps.
However, I still have a few memories from my youth, where I either had a breakdown on the road, or barely made it home. Neither was fun, and I refuse to run the risk of having that happen again, over a few dollars...
