Wheel nuts and caps
I have a 99 C5 and I'm changing from the wagon wheels to the thin spokes, at the same time I'm going to switch to the new style receiver. So I have all the parts ready, tires mounted on the rims, new style Tire Pressure Sensors inside, new key FOBs and a newer receiver, which I will solder in place so either the old style or the new style receiver will work.
So I'm all ready right ??
Last week I saw a C5 with the thin spokes and I looked at it ... the wheel nuts seem different. There seems to be a plastic cap on the new stlye nuts ??
So my questions are this:
Do they uses different wheel nuts with the thin spoke wheels ??
What are my options ?
I don't like the idea of using my factory plain old wheel nuts on the thin spokes. With the wagon wheels the nuts are covered, but on the thin spokes the nuts are exposed, so I think GM put plastic caps on the to make them look better.
What are my options ??
Thanks

I am only going to leave the old style receiver PLUG in place and I'll solder the new style plug into the existing wiring harness.
This way if I ever want to go back to the old style all I'll have to do is plug it in since I never removed the plug.
In other words, I'll have 2 plugs in the car, 1 for the new style and 1 for the old but I'll only be using one of the 2 plugs at a time.
It's just I'll still have the old wagon wheels with the old style senders in them, so just in case I need to go back I'll be able to easily

I don't think I need any wheel locks, so I'll just get 20 of the 64012.
I think the McGaurd are better and they are made in the USA ... I don't think the Gorilla nuts are.
Sure the Gorilla nuts are cheaper, but I tend to keep things for a long time and I think the McGaurds will last longer.
My main point here is the McGaurds are made in the USA, so I'll go with those.
I ordered McGuard part number 65357 ... still made in the USA.
Thanks for all you help.

They also have some other charges, like a $25 min order and $4.95 handling charge and probably shipping. If you are getting something from them or getting a couple of sets, it might work out ok.
I hope it helps someone.
